To celebrate the opening of the new Downtown Los Angeles Soho Warehouse, we collaborated with production company Sunset Studios to create an over the top Halloween celebration themed after the musical artist Prince. The creative challenge was to recreate The Glam Slam Club from the late 80's which was made popular and owned by the artist Prince himself.
We executed 8 rooms of installations including a main stage design for a live show by Hip Hop artists Quavo from the group Migos and Chance the Rapper. As per the request of the client, we were able to fulfill their expectations of a real purple rain wall installation, over 850 faux white doves suspended in mid air over the main bar room, 100's of feet of pearls above the dance floor and a purple baby grand piano photo moment complete with vintage Prince album and movie covers.
Our custom touch to the evening, which we added as a bonus to the client,
was collaborating with creative Malaya. Her contribution was choreographing the opening performance on the main stage as well as consulting for the authenticity of the entire night itself. Having been an original member of Princes' dancers, her creative vision to bring that extra special edge of originality was invaluable.
Needless to say, the client was very pleased with the whole event.
