Mad Hatter Gin & Tea Party Pop-up in Los Angeles

Updated: Mar 14, 2022

For the Mad Hatter Gin & Tea Party pop-up experience in Hollywood. We were asked to handle full creative production and execution. This event was a challenge on many levels, but was the most successful running to the public for four full months during the summer season. Sponsored by Fever-up and Secret Los Angeles.

The venue was a large dilapidated alley behind a nightclub off of Hollywood Blvd. First and foremost we had to spend about 2 full weeks gutting what was left of the alley which including breaking down almost 100 feet of overgrown foliage about 20 ft up the walls. Once the space was a blank canvas we got to work.

Our hero installation was two custom made teacup chandeliers that hung above the main tables. Each included about 200 teacups and kettles that hung from invisible wire above the guests. We also created oversized foam poppy's and roses that were hand painted and styled around the 2000 square foot venue.

In keeping with the theme of the event every detail had a nod to a character from the Alice in Wonderland story including huge majestic playing card tapestries, custom mad hatter hats that guests could wear by creative One-half Nelson, and a long communal table that doubled as a stage for the actors to tell the story of the cocktail infused evening of theatre and fantasy.
